Social Change Futurist™
I'm Sheila Phicil, the Social Change Futurist™. I help healthcare teams build innovation that works, and fix it when it breaks. Right now, that mostly means AI.
Through Phicil-itate™ Change, I bring nearly two decades inside healthcare to the teams putting AI into care.
Healthcare is racing to put AI into everything.
Some of it will work. A lot of it will break: the wrong tool, a rushed rollout, a vendor that overpromised, a system that never fit how people really work.
AI is the most powerful technology to reach healthcare in a generation. Used well, it changes lives. Used without real understanding, it causes harm faster than anything before it. My job is to make sure your AI helps the people it touches.
The signs your innovation strategy is off track
- Your AI pilots never make it out of the pilot.
- A vendor sold you a tool that does not fit how your people work.
- Your team is building fast, and no one is asking who it leaves out.
- You are spending on technology and not seeing results.
- You need to switch vendors or rebuild, and you need a real plan.
If any of these sound familiar, that is the moment to bring me in.
I start where real change starts
Talk to the people. Treat them like experts. Let them tell their stories. Then we turn what they share into strategy, product, and operations that hold up.
It works the same whether you are building something new or fixing something that broke. The goal stays the same: innovation that fits real workflows, real equity goals, and real patients.
The best work here is a relationship. I take on a small number of clients and stay close as the strategy shifts and the hard calls come. We work together over time, through the building and the fixing both.
Social Change Futurist™ Strategic Advisory Services
I work with healthcare organizations, health technology companies, healthcare entrepreneurs, venture studios, accelerators, incubators, and public-health leaders. The work covers:
Healthcare innovation strategy
Getting to real product-market fit, what I'm starting to call AI system fit: making sure your product truly works inside the system it serves. Then connecting it across the healthcare ecosystem and building it to scale.
Commercialization
Bringing medical technologies, AI-powered healthcare solutions, and patient-centered care models to market.
Co-creation and program design
Designing and running co-creation sessions, accelerator programs, and strategic workshops for healthcare innovation.
Business strategy and advising
Advising on business strategy and the practical work underneath it: analysis, planning, management, organization, and day-to-day operations. For healthcare professionals, health tech startups, providers, venture studios, accelerators, incubators, and public health.
Early and growth-stage companies
Helping early- and growth-stage healthcare companies plan, coach their innovation, sharpen how they work, and bring AI and digital tools into their systems the right way.
Licensing administration
Managing how your proprietary innovation frameworks and toolkits get licensed to healthcare accelerators, venture studios, and innovation programs.
Let's build something that works.
Tell me what you are building or what is breaking, and where you are stuck. We will find the path forward together.
